Good morning all,
I hope that you are having a wonderful morning and enjoying the cool evenings and mornings. School is back in session, the kids are hard at it and summer is coming to an end. It's time to gear up for Fall and the Holidays are coming up real fast. Let's work together to protect our greatest investment, our neighborhood.
We had a successful meeting on Aug. 17 with Officer Wes Wynn from the Waxahachie Police Dept. Thank you to those who were able to make it and I look forward to working with all of my neighbors and friends to protect our property. If you weren't able to make it, here is a summary of what we went over:
- We can set up a larger meeting place at a local school or assembly hall. Clift Middle School on Parks School House Road was suggested, we just need to contact the principle.
- National Night Out is scheduled for Oct. 6th by the Waxahachie Police Depth. Last year's went very well. Food, fun and games for the kids, and a lost child id card with info about them was given out. So I am looking forward to this years. We as a community are able to have a booth at this years event. If you would like to have one please let me know so that I can let Officer Wynn know and we can set it up. We also will need volunteers to help.
- We need to come up with a plan to welcome new home owners in our community. I would like your thoughts and suggestions to get this going. We are consistently having new families moving in and construction is increasing. Fred said that he is putting 7 more lots up for sale. We are growing.
- We need block captains, if you would like to be a block captain feel free to let me know. Several of you have already let me know that you will help, but we need 1 for every 10 homes.
- If you are going to be out of town for the weekend or more let your neighbor know so they can watch out for your home. Make sure that you give them your contact info if there is any problem they can let you know.
- As I get information about crimes taking place around our neighborhood I will pass it on to the block captains and they can pass it on to their neighbors.
Thank you for your interest in your neighborhood and feel free to contact me with questions, suggestions and comments on how to make our neighborhood safer. Don't forget to let me know of a date that will work for you to have our next meeting, if we have enough people I will contact the principle at Clift Middle School to have it there if not I will talk with Fred to see about having it there. If you would like to have it at your house that will be good as well. Also, I need to know if we are interested in having a booth at the N.N.O.
Thank you for your support and help,
